Snohomish River Flood Control Dikes

The Marshland and French Creek flood control dikes are PL-566 structures located in northwest Washington and bound the Snohomish River. The Multi-State Design Team has been involved in engineering investigation and design assistance for the flood control dikes which are founded on problematic soils requiring specialized provisions for seepage control, settlement, slope stability and overtopping. The Marshland Dike is currently being constructed at a cost of $2,700,000 and represents the final phase of work identified in the 1958 watershed work plan.
