Hardware and Software Helpful Hints


The Washington state "Geo Tech" team has prepared the following helpful hints to assist you in your Customer Service Tool Kit activities.

Adobe Acrobat DocumentThese documents require Adobe Acrobat. Follow this link for free download. 
These are relatively large files and may take a while to download.  The best way to view them is to right mouse click on the file name and select “Save Target As” to copy the file to your computer before trying to open it.



Adobe Acrobat Document    ArcGIS Normal Template                                      (1.5 MB)   

            To restore the non-Toolkit look-and-feel of ArcGIS. When Toolkit 2004 is installed the "normal"
            template used by ArcGIS is overwritten by the basic Toolkit ArcGIS template.  This can create a
            problem when trying to use all of the features of ArcGIS outside of Toolkit 2004.

            Some Toolkit 2004 users have found that the ArcGIS software is not configured correctly for
            Toolkit 2004.  These instructions will explain what to look for and how to change it.

            To set up a page layout for printing a large map, poster or sign; create a digital file of a
            large map, and transfer a file for printing at an office with a large format plotter.

            This process will show you how to add a large format plotter to your printers list so you
            can set up a large page size in ArcMap, ArcView or for other programs such as Word
