Willapa Bay Watershed

This unit consists of foothills and mountains above 500 feet of elevation.  Copious precipitation supports a lush rainforest of Pacific silver fir, western hemlock, western red cedar, and Douglas-fir.  Much of the region is in the third rotation of timber harvest.  Forestry, recreation, some rural residential development.

This unit is comprised of lower elevation mountains and foothills in the Coast Range.  The soils are underlain by sedimentary bedrock but have silty and clayey texture throughout the profile.  The soils in the Mid-Coastal Sedimentary CRA are more loamy in texture.  Fragipans are present in some of the soils.  Temperature regime is mesic and the moisture regime is udic.  Vegetation is Douglas-fir and western hemlock.
