The common bond of conservation

Eileen Jackson is a human resources specialist in Spokane, Washington I help people help the land…… by taking as much of the administrative burden off our employees as I can.  Every time I answer an employee’s question about forms, or benefits, or reset an employee’s password, or direct them to the proper source for information I am freeing up their time so they can devote themselves to getting conservation on the ground.  I may be a ‘background’ player in the conservation game, but I have no doubt about the importance of my role, and the welcome spirit in which it is received.

The best thing I enjoy about working for the NRCS is……the people.  A nicer, more dedicated group would be hard to find.  I especially enjoy the days when I have a positive affect my fellow employees and the general public.  I can change someone’s day by offering a kind word, a smile, or lending a willing ear when they just need to vent.  I offer help, advice, and encouragement to job seekers and employees, and have received all of those back from others as well.  This is a very nurturing and supportive environment!
